Requirements and compatibility

Tollgate is an Atlassian Forge app for Jira Cloud only. It runs on the nodejs22.x Forge runtime and is distributed as a paid Marketplace listing (licensing enabled).

Project types in scope

Tollgate’s project-level modules are restricted by displayConditions to two Jira project types:

SAM governs bounded delivery investments (Commit / Run / Evaluate). It does not model ongoing operations (service desk / ITSM), idea backlogs (product discovery), or ops queues. Restricting to software + business also avoids a Jira routing bug where the project-page tab href resolves to undefined on a service-desk project and 404s.

Tollgate is a desktop experience for its primary surfaces; the project page and global page do not render in the Jira mobile apps (the mobile glance is the mobile-only affordance).

The documentation blueprint (11-documentation-doctree.md) lists the issue panel as removed (“desktop; no issue panel”), but the current manifest.yml still declares a jira:issuePanel module (a read-only “Work Package” view on linked issues). Confirm whether the issue panel is a supported surface before publishing.

Jira Premium — the Portfolio

The Tollgate Portfolio is built on Jira Plans, which require Jira Premium (or Enterprise). Portfolio-scoped agent actions take a planId. On a site with no Plan, the Portfolio shows a “No Jira plans found” explainer — a Premium Plan is the prerequisite.

Atlassian Rovo — the agent

The Ask Tollgate Rovo agent requires Atlassian Rovo, available on Premium/Enterprise Jira only. Standard-plan customers get the methodology, the six-tab core, and the present-from-the-dashboard signature use case, but not the in-app Rovo agent.
